The Secretary of the Bulgarian Association in defence of insured and injured in road crashes writes:

We have scheduled three major activities for this year’s World Day of Remembrance:

*    On 11^th November we are starting an educational campaign in the primary school in the city of Sliven. There will be a presentation on “Let’s have roads that are safe for all”. There will be a quiz with the children with questions on road safety and prizes. Afterwards there will be a meeting with children who had lost relatives in road crashes. The event will start at 11 o’clock.

*    We are waiting for confirmation for the same event in other schools in Bulgaria during the World Day week (11-17 November).

*    On 17^th November in Sofia in the Saint George Church at 11 o’clock we will have a memorial ceremony. We’ve invited our members (all of them had lost relatives or have been injured); authorities and friends. After the ceremony there will be a meeting and a discussion on main road safety topics in our office.

*    On 17^th November, in the city of Petrich, there will be the same as in Sofia – A Memorial Ceremony for injured and bereaved road traffic victims.

Report of World Day 2013 events in Bulgaria

We had three major activities for this year’s World Day:

1.    On 11^th November we’ve held an educational campaign in the primary school of the city of Sliven. There was presentation on “Let’s have roads that are safe for all”. There was a quiz with the children with questions on road safety and prizes. Afterwards there was a meeting with children who had lost relatives in road crashes.

2.    On 17^th November in Sofia in the Saint George Church at 11 o’clock we had a memorial ceremony. We’ve invited our members (all of them had lost relatives or were injured); authorities and friends.

3.    On 17^th November in the city of Petrich there was a memorial ceremony with road crash victims’ relatives in the Vuvedenie Bogorodichno church.

As a part of the WDOR we made a video of remembrance of Galia Gorova, who was killed in crash in 2006 and still the killer (who was drugged) is still not charged. The whole story was told by her mother, who also calls for safer roads and safer driving.
