This website was launched on 26th October 2008 and last re-launched on 26th October 2014. The dates were chosen to coincide with the UN recognition of the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims on 26th October 2005.
While administration of the website, carried out by the website team, was completely free until WDR 2015 and continues to be free to a large extent, the amount of regular webmaster hours needed for further development of the site and ongoing improvements and maintenance now requires remuneration for this work. In addition to this and hosting and domain costs, we want to offer more World Day publicity materials to share and to make the World Day more widely known, including through social media adverts and through engaging international Press Agencies.
Any amount will be appreciated and every donation will be acknowledged on our Supporters page.
All WDR website funds are administered by the European Federation of Road Traffic Victims (FEVR), who are the creator and first owner of the World Day of Remembrance and an international NGO with UN consultative status, set up over 25 years ago.
