Please send road victim photographs for this year’s Wall of Remembrance to: media@worlddayofremembrance.org

Ask for a Message of Support from your Head of State and/or persons important to your organization

https://wdor-archive.com/about/messages-thoughts/leading-politicians/   https://wdor-archive.com/worldwide-actions/official-world-day-recognition/parliaments-and-governments/

The World Day offers the opportunity to involve your politicians and persons who are important to the work of your organization, and sensitize them to the issues of road death and injury – maybe there is still time to approach them for messages of support, and for supporting the official recognition of the World Day of Remembrance in your country – all information will be added to the World Day website, please send to editor@worlddayofremembrance.org

WDR 2016 Poster and Video with your logo – late requests

The WDR Team may still be able to response to your late requests – submitted via the World Day website:  https://wdor-archive.com/request

As you will already be aware, this year’s theme “Vital post-crash actions- medical care, investigation, justice!” is based on Pillar 5 (post-crash response) of the Global Plan for the Decade of Action and is a very important area of road safety especially for NGOs whose work also includes support for road crash victims.

Testimonies

Collecting testimonies from bereaved and injured road crash victims will be a very appropriate action especially for this year’s World Day of Remembrance, since they will provide information of immediate medical care, investigation of the crash and the response by the legal system-and therefore material to illustrate this year’s World Day theme and possible campaigning material for the future.

Please see some examples on the World Day website: https://wdor-archive.com/publicity/testimonies/

We are offering our 10th & 20th Anniversary poster in key languages to all World Day event organizers who did not manage to submit their form and logo in time.  All those who did, will be receiving their poster soonest.

Plan to launch a “Coalition Against Road Trauma”(CART) this World Day!

Such a Coalition is proposed as one of several global World Day initiatives, i.e. a network of associations representing health professionals, emergency personnel, road safety experts, relevant charities and civil rights organisations, as well as committed individuals.

Besides providing a chance to actively participate in commemorations, the World Day offers them an opportunity to publicize the messages relating to their specific work, while at the same time highlighting the scale and impact of road crashes.
