WDR was observed by Uttarakhand Productivity Council ( UPC) & UJVN Limited, Dehradun jointly on 15th November, 2014 from 4pm to 7.30 pm at Dehradun, India. The following activities were the part of the event –
1. Silence prayer for the persons who lost their lives in road accidents.
2. Prayer for preventing road casualties
3. Reading the message of Secretary General, UNO in English & Hindi by Mr.B.C.K. Mishra, ED( Civil)- UJVNL , Dehradun
4. Inaugural lecture by Mr. Sandeep Singhal, Director Projects- UJVNL, Dehradun
5. Theme Lecture on “ World’s biggest challenge: To Minimize road casualties”- Mr. S.P.Singh, Secretary, UPC, Dehradun
6. Valedictory lecture by Mr. S.K.Chopra, ED- HR, UJVNL, Dehradun
7. Taking pledge for following the rules of road safety religiously.
8. Lightening candles & candle march in the memory of road accident victims.
Inauguration- The program was inaugurated by Mr.S.K.Chopra, ED-HR, UJVNL.
Participants- Directors of UJVNL, employees of the power corporations in Uttarakhand state & their young children. Total turnout was about one thousand in number.
