| World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims/Iran On November 16, 2014 a special commemorative meeting was held in the Guilan Road Trauma Research Center, Guilan Province, boder Caspian Sea,Iran. In order to join the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims (WDOR) world events. The event was organized by the local Goverrnment, Guilan University of Medical Science, Guilan Road Trauma Research Center, Guilan state Traffic Council, Traffic Police department, Red Crescent Society, an NGO on Road Safety and mass media took part in the event. In this memorial to remember those who lost their lives on the roads, Sirous Ghayghran’ wife, Footbal Captain, who lost his life along with one other youngster when their speeding car hit a bus was present. Draw exhibition was also presented by students over next hall. Professor Shahrokh Yousefzade chabok,Head of Guilan Road Trauma Research Center; reminded that Road Traffic Accident is second leading causes of death in Iran and every year thousands of people tragically die in traffic accidents. He Introduced the first national Trauma system guideline which are provided by GRTRC and mentioned that it is possible to prevent traffic accidents and that depends on all of us and called all participants to support this program for road safety improvement. In final, a minute silence to remember road accident victims was observed. |
