The Helmet Vaccine Initiative Tanzania (HVIT) Foundation will mark the World Day of Remembrance on 19^th November with multifaith prayers by faith leaders, lighting of candles and speeches, involving 100 primary school students, government officials, bodaboda riders (motorcyclists), group leaders and representatives of commuter buses and heavy trucks.

The World Day of Remembrance is observed on every 3^rd Sunday of November of each year but Helmet Vaccine Initiative Tanzania Foundation organized the event on 19^th November, 2013 to capture the school calendar of that day.

The Helmet Vaccine Initiative Tanzania Foundation received a number of reflectors from WHO and used them to distribute to students of Mkoani Primary school, in commemoration of the World Day of Remembrance 2013.

The reflectors were distributed by the Commanding Officer of Tanzania Police Traffic, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohamed Mpinga, who in his speech to students said he supported the efforts of students to observe the traffic regulations and strongly warned those drivers who disobey the rules and regulations of roads traffic.

Commissioner Mpinga directed all the Traffic Police while on duty to strongly supervise and make sure that those drivers who drive motorcycles (bodabodas) without wearing helmets, together with their passengers, and those car/bus/heavy duty drivers who violate road regulations and laws are strictly fined or sent to courts according to the standing orders and laws.
