Policy Interaction and Mass Awareness

Swatantrata Abhiyan Nepal will organise two events :

Policy Interaction Program: It will be a workshop where concern government representative, civil society, Police, Media and other participate. There will be presentation on the situation of Road safety in Nepal and number of children dying because of it. The aim of the workshop is lobby with Nepal government and concern agencies to incorporate Road safety issues in the course book or curriculum so that it can be taken as a serious agenda and children could have better understanding of safety from early ages.

Candle Lightening: With the presence of victims, victims family, media, youth volunteers, civil society, business houses, government representative a candle light program will be held to mark 20 November 2016.

“Swatantrata Abhiyan Nepal”

Swatantrata Abhiyan Nepal is a nongovernmental organization that works for the justice and end of impunity; for the end of deprivation through developmental activities together with government; and run campaigns against all forms of discrimination and slavery like practices. The organization is non – political, non –partisan, secular and mandated to work all over Nepal. It was established in December 2012. With an approach of Policy Advocacy, Research and Study, Capacity Building and movement building organization has been working on following thematic issues: Freedom from Fear, Freedom from Deprivation, Freedom from Discrimination and Freedom from Slavery.
Swatantrata Abhiyan works with Human Rights based approach, empowering and organizing survivors and right holders, evidence based policy advocacy and influence and working with other NGOs for synergising their efforts through promoting wider social mobilization. Swatantrata Abhiyan has implemented activities of awareness raising, capacity building of stakeholders, social mobilization, social campaigns and social actions.

Swatantrata Abhiyan Nepal has a theme Freedom from Fear under it has been running campaign on Road Safety. Number of school education, Youth mobilisation, research and study, Policy advocacy are major activities.
