Art exhibition and conference

1. ‐ The event will be held on 16 and 17 November in the Art gallery La Turbina, located in the village of Tepoztlan in Morelos state one hour south of Mexico City.

2. ‐ The Sculpture Angelus (Ex‐Votos) will be unveiled, made by the artist Mario Avila, at the request of Francisco Macias Velasco and dedicated to the memory of his son Jonathan Macias Mazin and victims of traffic accidents within the commemoration of the International Day of Rememberance for Road Traffic Victims.

3. ‐ Francisco Macias Velasco will read a text alluding to the Angelus Project, including the terrible statistics of traffic victims, as well as fragments of poems alluding to this issue so painful, one of the Mexican poet Andrés Henestrosa and other of the British poet Heathcote Williams.

4. ‐The audience will be invited to participate, writing the name of the victim in a colored ribbon and hang it on angel wings, referencing a Hai Ku that Francisco Macias Velasco written specifically for this sculpture Angelus (Ex‐Votes)

5. ‐ The concept of sculpture Angelus (Ex‐Voto) is itinerant and if government authorities, NGOs and educational institutions invite us to hold events like this to remember the victims of traffic and at the same time become a cautionary symbol toavoid traffic accidents, we are open to take them to other cities, to be exhibited in museums, universities or public places and so collect the names of victims of traffic accidents, both in Mexico and abroad.

Exhibición de Arte y Conferencia en Mexico

1.‐ El evento se llevará a cabo los días 16 y 17 de Noviembre en la galería de Arte La Turbina, situada en el pueblo de Tepoztlán, en el estado de Morelos a una hora al sur de la Cd. de México.

2.‐ Se develará la escultura Ángelus (Ex –Votos), realizada por el artista Mario Ávila, a petición de Francisco Macías Velasco y dedicado a la memoria de su hijo Jonathan Macías Mazín y a las víctimas de los accidentes de trafico en el marco de la conmemoración de el Día Internacional para Recordar a las Víctimas de Trafico.

3.‐ Francisco Macías Velasco leerá un texto alusivo al proyecto Ángelus, que incluirá las terribles estadísticas de víctimas del trafico, así como fragmentos de poemas alusivos a este tema tan doloroso, uno del poeta mexicano Andrés Henestrosa y otro del británico Heathcote Williams.

4.‐Se invitará al público existente a participar, escribiendo el nombre de la víctima en un listón de color y colgarlo en las alas del ángel, haciendo referencia al Hai Ku escrito por Francisco Macías Velasco específicamente para esta escultura Ángelus (Ex‐ Votos) “SOBRE MIS ALAS. VUELE EN EL TIEMPO. TU RECUERDO”

5.‐ El concepto de la escultura Ángelus (Ex‐Votos) es itinerante y si las autoridades gubernamentales, ONG’s o instituciones educativas nos invitan a realizar eventos como este para recordar a las víctimas de trafico y al mismo tiempo sea un símbolo preventivo para evitar accidentes de trafico, estamos abiertos para llevarlas a otras ciudades, para ser exhibida en museos, universidades o plazas públicas y de esa manera recoger los nombres de las víctimas de trafico tanto en México como en otros países.
