»It’s time to Remember – Say NO to Road Crime!«

Usalama Watch Initiative; a non-profit, NGO registered under section 10 of the Kenya NGO coordination Act. The main objective of the organization is to promote road safety and save lives on Kenyan roads.
Our Mission
“To prevent road accidents through provision of relevant education, information, advocacy and empowerment of road users; encourage adoption of interventions that reduce deaths and injuries while extending support to victims of road crashes/accidents.”

We focus on school children road safety:
Our school safety program is based on the commitment that no child should ever have to negotiate dangerous traffic on his or her way to or from school. We achieve this by setting up the following measures:-
 Training school children (theoretically & practically) on safety while using the road. We use simple language with charts, model cars and songs.
 Establishing traffic signs like zebra crossings, warning signs, speed bumps etc.
 Training of crossing guards (this includes traffic and first aid training)
 Payment of the crossing guard’s salary and annual insurance cover
 Purchase and provision of the crossing guard’s uniform items like the reflective jackets, portable stop sign, boots etc.
 Taking part in school road safety campaigns like the road safety week, UN world day of remembrance for road crash victims etc.
