“LET’S HAVE ROADS THAT ARE SAFE FOR ALL”
Commemoration in Bungoma Town
Objective
While the El-Firezo Associates and the Kenya Red Cross Bungoma branch are getting started on a Road Safety initiative; the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims is an important day in the transport industry. We believe it is relevant and appropriate to use this day to launch the “Reward N’ Conquer” Project, a project on road safety among motorcycle riders (or boda-boda riders as they are known) in Bungoma town. During the event, there will be sensitization of the public on general road safety to commemorate this day. While the event will be open to the public, the main focus will be on victims of boda-boda transportation.
Target audience
Boda-Boda (Motorcycle) riders and passengers.
Activities
A procession led by boda-boda riders accompanied by dancers will begin at the Bungoma Red Cross society Offices and end with a public rally at the Posta Grounds. The public rally will observe a moment of silence for victims of accidents and have speeches by stakeholders.
