Events are going to be held throughout Japan on the two above days:

In Tokyo, a candle-light vigil will be held on the eve of the World Day, 16^th November.

Ai-no-Kai, a road victims association in the Tokyo area (Ai=love Kai=meeting), will hold a meeting to discuss traffic policies, on 16^thNovember.

On 17^th November, meetings will be held in Sapporo, as well as Hokkaido.

The Hokkaido Forum 2013 will meet to discuss “Proposals towards ZERO traffic fatalities and injuries. Prof Yukio Oguri, who acts as Coordinator between the many existing Japanese road victim organizations and has been promoting the World Day among them and in Japan since 2006, will give the keynote speech there on the theme “Significance of the World Day of Remembrance and our Tasks”

The Association of Victims Families will hold a meeting in Chiba on the World Day.

Other events in Japan to mark the World Day of Remembrance in 2013 are:

* TAV (Traffic Victims Association) will deliver pamphlets on traffic safety in Osaka, Nagoya and Kyoto.

* NPO KENTO (a victim organization) will deliver leaflets at Kyoto University of Industry, where messages to victims together with photos will be displayed.

* In Kumamoto Nichi-Nichi Shinbun, the Kumamoto Police Agency placed yellow windmills at 258 locations.

* The Akita Prefectural Police Agency also placed yellow windmills on the spots of fatal crashes, as they did for World Day 2012.
