The knowledge and experience of doctors, nurses, paramedics, researchers and all groups related to trauma management the Society promotes is combined for the care of the injured patient. This is the only organization in the road safety field, which was started under the initiation and efforts of the members of the Indian Medical Association, Kerala Police Officers, Officers of the Motor Vehicle Department and other departments and various eminent personalities who are interested in public service. The executive committee members include famous and expert doctors, senior police officers, motor vehicle department officers, management experts, business stalwarts, other executives and highly respected personalities in the society. ‘TRACK’ has implemented its various programmes with the active support of Rotary Club of Calicut Beach and the Lions Club of Calicut.
Trauma Care

Trauma care is the care given to patients with severe injury primarily caused by automobile crashes, knife wounds, falls, burns etc. The survival of a trauma patient is dependant on immediate response and medical care at the scene of the injury, rapid transport from the scene of the injury to a qualified trauma medical facility, qualified trauma medical facilities capable of delivering immediate medical care and ongoing treatment for the injured person. The first trauma is to the patient—the second trauma is to the family of the adult or paediatric patient. The family suffers an emotional trauma/upheaval when a loved one suffers a life-threatening injury or sudden illness.
A coordinated, multidisciplinary approach is needed for the care of the victim as unlike other medical problems, a trauma victim’s care cannot be reviewed and a decision reached as to where the victim wants to go or who should care for him. The survival of the trauma patient is wholly influenced by the decisions taken in the most expedient manner.

Mission
To render life saving assistance to accident victims and speedy transport to a medical center from the accident site.
To improve the standard and delivery of Trauma Services to the community.
To promote and develop the highest standards of patient care, education in the field of trauma in order to deliver higher standards of community care.
To create a common awareness regarding trauma related issues, road etiquettes and leadership qualities among the general public.
To co-ordinate efforts of different organizations involved in Trauma Care.
