“World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims (WDR)”

THE #WDR2016 event is going to be organised in collaboration with Centre for Road Safety, SPUP, Road Safety Cell, State Transport Department, State Sports Department etc. The Main event name is “Rahgiri” where lots of activities would be organised like gatherings to remember road accident victims, signature to take pledge to follow traffic norms, kids marathon, sports activities etc at one point. Around 7000 road users are expected to participate in the event.

A member of the international network of road safety organizations called Global Alliance of NGOs for Road Safety, People’s Trust is actively associated with World Bank, Police, Transport, PWD, Road Safety Council, and other agencies in road safety. Through our state-wide fieldwork and network of road safety enthusiasts, People’s Trust has contributed to the success of advocacy programmes such as Helmet Use, Road Safety Audit, Pappu Zebra Road Sense Education program, Post Trauma Care, and been commended for our work by successive Ministers of Transport, Education, Home, Transport Commissioner, DGP, PWD Secretary, Disaster Management Secretary, Education Secretary and others. Besides, Rajasthan, People’s Trust has extended its footprints to Maharashtra and Kerala and have associations in Delhi, UP, Punjab, Gujarat, Odhisa and Telangana.
