In Guyana November is known as National Road Safety Month and as the World Day of Remembrance falls in that month, it is observed as a major event.

The Guyana National Road Safety Council will be observing the World Day with an Awareness walk, which will involve 400 people walking with plaques and photographs of people killed in road crashes, alongside a pick up truck with a crash vehicle.

The Procession will come to a stop at a public place for a gathering, when speeches will be given by government ministers and other officials.

The National Road Safety Council will also place 86 replica bodies on the road – to represent the 86 people killed on Guyana roadways. Further, leaflets will be handed to the public and there will be a quiz on the value of one life.
