Many events will take place on the whole Island of Rhodes to mark the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims in 2012. They are coordinated by Efthita, the Rhodes road traffic victim association.

18^th of November 2012: World Day of Remembrance

Rhodes Efthita, on 2005, was the first organization in Greece, that started the World Day of Remembrance, and it still continues to honor it as a very important day.

• 4 crashed cars will be placed on the central part in the city of Rhodes, with the banner “Remember Me” and another banner“Now is the time to learn from the past”
• The main aim of this event is to invite the citizens to leave a flower and a candle.
• In one of the landmarks in the city of Rhodes, 2 volunteers dressed as angels near the car from a car accident, will distribute leaflets with the message “I am an angel from a car accident – Drive carefully and with responsibility”.
• A memorial service will be held in the Cathedral of Rhodes on 18/11/2012 with the participation of politicians, military, citizens and families of victims. At our request, 50 churches in Rhodes will sing memorial prayers and read the words of Archbishop Kyrillos for the Day of Remembrance.
• At the Municipal Theatre on 16th of November, will be a presentation of a documentary “Car Accidents”. The production is made by a famous media journalist.
• The theatre group “PRAJIS”, on 17th of November will stage a play called “Save” and the proceeds of the show will be given to Efthita Rhodes, for the support of road victims.
• A devout concert will be held on 18th of November by the Cathedral Choir of Rhodes with many prayers and songs from all over the world. In the courtyard will be placed candles as a pathway to the entrance of the Cathedral.
• Voluntary blood donation in Memory of Victims, will be held on the 16th and 17th of November on the donation section of Municipality of Rhodes, with the collaboration of the Blood Donor club and the Club Officers of Rhodes. The message will be “I give blood to stop car accidents”.
• Participation of associations and organizations of Rhodes in the World Day of Remembrance of 2012.
