The Barbados Road Safety Association will be commemorating this Remembrance Day in 2013 with a Church Service for victims and families of traffic crashes in the morning.

In the afternoon, we will be placing roadside memorial markers at locations throughout the island where fatalities occurred during the year, and in the evening we will be holding a vigil and candlelight ceremony in memory of the people killed on our roads. This ceremony will take place in Queens Park, where we will also release balloons and pay tribute to victims in song, poem or words of remembrance.

We will also be asking persons at home to light a candle as part of the ‘Light of Hope’ initiative, thus joining with other countries around the world at this time to pay tribute to road victims worldwide.
