Argentina, Gathering, Religious Service, November 2012

1- On the occasion of “World Day of Remembrance for Traffic Victims”, Luchemos por la Vida has designed, printed and financed 10.000 posters to be sent free to every church and parochial school in Argentina. The poster –that is attached to this e-mail- aims to bind Christians’ responsibility and involvement in the care of life in streets and roads through a responsible behaviour.

2- Besides, as we have been doing for 3 years, we will send a letter to each bishop of the country, to catholic and Christian churches and to ministers from other religions to promote the day, to request a prayer for the victims and to make believers remember their responsibility in safe driving.

3- Moreover, this Association will send a letter to all the Argentinian mass media (1400 mass media). This activity is very important because, thanks to this, last year, the most important newspapers of the country, “Clarín” and “La Nación”, published mentions to the day, an opinion note of Alberto Silveira, President of the association, which is about the way to be followed by Argentina to confront the mortality due to traffic accidents and an investigation about the risky behaviour of the pedestrians.

4- Apart from this, we will spread “World Day of Remembrance of Road Traffic Victims” by promoting the supportive blow of the siren, activity that has emerged from Latin American NGOs of victim’s relatives and that consists on encouraging a blow of sirens in every Latin American fire station on November, 18th at 12.
